Meet the Noble

WILLIAM E. EVELAND, PC

Our Noble for May and June is Past Commander William E. Eveland who answered the call for our Officer line.  Bill was Commander in 1999 and enjoyed his tenure leading our Legion

Bill will be the first Commander to go "through" the line a second time.  He jokingly said he might even get it right this time!  We're looking forward to Bill's leadership in the future.

Bill joined the Army in March of 1968 and was discharged in August of 1970.  He spent his Basic Training at Fort Dix and also his advanced infantry training.  He was then sent to Vietnam with the 25th Infantry.

Bill was raised to Master Mason in January or 1993 in Reading Lodge #549.  In May of 1993, Bill joined the Reading Consistory and Rajah Shrine in 1994.  He joined our Legion in 1995.

PC, 2nd Vice Commander Bill also is active with the Reading Pagoda Lions Club where he serves as Secretary.

He has been married to his wife Jackie for 38 years and they have one daughter, Jennifer Stout.  The apple of Bill's eye is his Grandson, Johnathan.  Bill enjoys oil painting and working around the house.

Retired from the Reading Police Dept. after serving for 26 years, he went to work as an evidence technician at the Reading court house.

Bill's mother was in Eastern Star and Amaranth, her father served as Master of his Blue Lodge in Mahanoy City.  His Uncle James w2as Master of his Lodge in Sharon Hill, Pa., and his cousin Benny served as Master in his Philadelphia Blue Lodge.
