Meet the Noble
WILLIAM E. EVELAND, PC
Our
Noble for May and June is Past Commander William E. Eveland who
answered the call for our Officer line. Bill was Commander in
1999 and enjoyed his tenure leading our Legion
Bill will be the
first Commander to go "through" the line a second time. He
jokingly said he might even get it right this time! We're
looking forward to Bill's leadership in the future.
Bill joined the
Army in March of 1968 and was discharged in August of 1970. He
spent his Basic Training at Fort Dix and also his advanced infantry
training. He was then sent to Vietnam with the 25th Infantry.
Bill was raised
to Master Mason in January or 1993 in Reading Lodge #549. In
May of 1993, Bill joined the Reading Consistory and Rajah Shrine in
1994. He joined our Legion in 1995.

Commander Bill also is active with the Reading Pagoda Lions Club
where he serves as Secretary.
He has been married to his wife
Jackie for 38 years and they have one daughter, Jennifer Stout.
The apple of Bill's eye is his Grandson, Johnathan. Bill
enjoys oil painting and working around the house.
Retired from the Reading Police
Dept. after serving for 26 years, he went to work as an evidence
technician at the Reading court house.
Bill's mother was in Eastern Star
and Amaranth, her father served as Master of his Blue Lodge in
Mahanoy City. His Uncle James w2as Master of his Lodge in
Sharon Hill, Pa., and his cousin Benny served as Master in his
Philadelphia Blue Lodge.
